Skellefteå church
Monday’s photo essay is a little late but better late than never. In February I visited a friend in the small town of Skellefteå in Northern Sweden. It was a beautiful weekend of frigid snowstorms, the fog rolling in over the sea, and bright sunny days, the sky a stunning blue and everything else perfect, untouched white as we walked by the frozen river. The nights were filled with cosy drinks huddled away from the cold and crazy tunes at rockabilly pubs.

Baltic ice

Afternoon light over the frozen river

The house of cheese, Burträsk

Church cemetery in Burträsk

Ice fishing

Out on the frozen lake

My hat on the dash

The lighthouse at Bjuröklubb

Out on the ocean, Bjuröklubb

Mist over the frozen sea

Outside it's snowing but inside we're warm and cosy

A rockabilly night out
